The mission of the DHS School Counseling department is to provide all students with a comprehensive school counseling program. Our goal is to promote personal/social growth, academic achievement, and career/college readiness for 21st-century learners. In partnership with parents, teachers, administration, and the community, the school counselor provides support for student growth and advocates for equity, access, and success for every student.

Summer Webinar Series


Exploring College Majors and Careers – May 14, 4:00pm – 5:30pm

Many high school seniors (and college students) struggle with major and career choices. Choosing your major is an important step toward your career, but there is plenty of support for students along the way. In this webinar, you will learn how to navigate this choice to maximize future options.


Applying to College 101 – May 21, 6:00pm – 7:30pm

High school juniors and their families will learn about the college admission process. We’ll cover how to build your college list and questions to ask on a college tour. We’ll also discuss college essay pointers, the application timeline, and the basics of financial aid. 


College Essay Prep – Dates coming soon!

Summer College Essay Prep will be offered both virtually and in-person on NH college campuses. In these workshops, students will have the opportunity to learn essay writing strategies, hear directly from college admissions professionals about the importance of their essays, and engage in essay topic brainstorming activities.
