2021 Summer Reading and AP Summer Requirements
APUSH Summer Exercise:
Please read the prologue to After the Fact: The Art of Historical Detection by James W. Davidson and Mark H. Lytle, titled "The Strange Death of Silas Deane."
Then, select another figure from American History, either prominent or obscure, and locate works (books, essays, articles, documentaries, podcasts, journal entries, etc.) about them. Type a report regarding the extent to which the narrative of their life has changed in interpretation based on who wrote about it, why and when. This will be turned in during the first week of school.
Please contact Mr. Salmonsen at email@example.com to obtain a copy of "The Strange Death of Silas Deane," as well as the necessary forms to use for analysis and evaluation of your collected resources.
