Graduation: Important Messages Please Read

Good afternoon members and families/guardians of the Class of 2024, I am writing to let you know that we will be holding graduation on Thursday, June th at 7:00 pm (same time and date) at the Whittemore Center (new location) on the campus of the University of New Hampshire. We thank them for being able to accommodate us as the weather pattern for numerous days starting tomorrow afternoon does not look favorable. We have successfully held many graduations here and look forward to Thursday evening.

While much more logistical information will follow, here are the key points to help with planning.

Graduation Practice will be held at 8 am on Thursday, June 6 th at the Whittemore Center. Students should park in A Lot (the large lot next to the Whittemore Center). If you park somewhere else, you will be ticketed.

Students should report to the Whittemore Center at 5:45 pm to prepare for graduation. Please allow time for traffic.

Doors will open at 5:45 pm for guests. We will not be printing tickets but based on the placement of the stage for a graduation already scheduled, we ask that you limited the number of guests to nine (9). The event will be livestreamed, and a link will follow.

Handicap parking placards were given out this morning at cap and gown distribution.  More specific information about parking the night of the event will follow in a separate email.

As previously mentioned, much more information will follow but this allows for people to plan accordingly while taking the weather out of the equation.

We appreciate your flexibility as we look forward to celebrating the Class of 2024.

Sincerely,

Peter Driscoll

Dover High School Principal

UPDATED INFORMATION:

Graduation Information for the Class of 2024

The graduation ceremony will be on Thursday, June 6th at 7:00 pm. The venue has been changed to the Whittemore Center on the campus of the University of New Hampshire.

Graduation Practice

Graduation practice will be held at 8 am on Thursday, June 6th at the Whittemore Center. Students should park in A Lot (the large lot next to the Whittemore Center). If you park somewhere else, you will be ticketed.

Please note that there is construction taking place on Madbury Road and build in extra time to arrive.

Parking

General parking will be in A Lot, the large lot across the railroad tracks from the Whittemore Center.

Handicap parking will be at the Alumni Center at 9 Edgewood Road. Please be sure to display your Dover High School graduation placard on your dashboard. Handicap access is at the back of the Whittemore Center if you use this parking lot.

Please note that there is construction taking place on Madbury Road and build in extra time to arrive.

Arrival

Students should arrive at 5:45 pm to prepare for the ceremony.

Doors will open for guests at 5:45 pm.

Guests

There are no tickets, but families are asked to limit the number of guests to nine (9). The reason for the limit is that the stage was already set up for another high school that is much smaller than Dover High School.  UNH cannot move it back and forth in the time frame to accommodate both graduations. Because of the stage location, the seating capacity that has a direct line of sight to the stage is around 45% of the arena. With a class of 348 graduates, we used the number nine (9) to make sure there is room for all guests to have a seat that allows them to see the stage.
