Quarter II/Semester I Report Cards

Report cards were posted on Friday, February 4th to align with the incomplete window which closed on Friday, February 4th.  Incompletes beyond that day must be approved by the Dean of Instruction, Ms. West.  Paper report cards were distributed today due to a Remote Learning Day and a two-hour delay for our Barrington and Nottingham students.

Senior Prom

The Senior Prom will be held on Saturday, May 21st in the Granite State Room of the Memorial Union Building on the campus of the University of New Hampshire. The event will be open to seniors and approved guests and will be held from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. Information will be coming out soon regarding ticket sales and other details.

The Tri-City CTE Centers are being featured on the Bring Back the Trades Live Stream!

On Tuesday, February 15 at 7:00 pm Steve Turner from Bring Back the Trades will be hosting a live stream event featuring the Career Technical Centers from the Tri-City region. Representatives from Dover, Somersworth, and Rochester will be available to explain their offerings and answer questions from the viewers. This is a great opportunity for parents, students, and the community to hear about the benefits of Career Tech Education.

Dover Regional Career Technical Center Applications for 22-23

Dover Regional Career and Technical Center has opened the application portal for SY 2022-2023. Students should apply by February 28th for priority consideration.

Athletic Eligibility for Quarter III

Continued athletic eligibility is based on 2nd Quarter grades, not the overall grade for a semester class.  Please review the information below that outlines athletic eligibility.  Athletic eligibility for Quarter III is based on the day report cards are distributed.

 

II.  N.H.I.A.A. AND DOVER HIGH SCHOOL ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY:

 

  1. All interscholastic athletes and managers must meet the Dover High School academic eligibility requirements.Managers may be exempt from physical examinations.
  2. Student/athletes must make themselves aware of Dover High School and N.H.I.A.A. eligibility rules, policies, and procedures.
  3. The interscholastic athletic program at Dover High School meets or exceeds the requirements of the N.H.I.A.A..
  4. The Dover High School eligibility rules are as follows:

 

For all subsequent seasons - No pupil who has failed to pass four (4) units of work (classes) during the previous grading period (quarters 1, 2 and 3 of this school year) shall represent Dover High School in any interscholastic contest.

Definitions:

  1. Basic Ranking Period:Not less than six (6) weeks.
  2. Previous Basic Ranking Period:Indicates the last prior ranking period of the school year.
  3. Passing Grade:As determined by the NHIAA individual member high schools.

*     A unit of work reflects a course that meets the equivalent of 5 times per week.

**   This is interpreted as the school’s previous ranking period, not the student’s previous ranking period.

NOTE:    Dover High School academic eligibility will be determined for the following seasons by the following quarters on the day report cards are issued to the student/athletes:

      Fall      –    Quarter 4 of the previous year (freshman are automatically eligible until issuance

                   of first report card) and Quarter 1 of the present school year.

      Winter –    Quarter 1 and 2 of the present school year.

      Spring –    Quarter 2 and 3 of the present school year. 

 NO ATHLETE MAY PLAY IN A NHIAA SANCTIONED GAME UNTIL THEY ARE ACADEMICALLY ELIGIBLE.

 

Girls State

The American Legion Auxiliary-Department of New Hampshire will be holding its annual Girls State from Sunday, June 26, 2022 through Saturday, July 2, 2022 on the campus of St. Anselm College.  Girls State is a week-long training course in the study and practical application of self-government.  It is meant to supplement Civics or American Government as it is taught in high schools across the state and is planned so students can put the theories of American government as taught in the classroom into practice.  To find out more information, including how to apply, please speak to your school counselor or visit https://alagranitegirlsstate.wordpress.com/.    Applications are due by May 31, 2022.

 

Boys State

New Hampshire’s Department of the American Legion will be holding its 75th annual Boys State from Sunday, June 26, 2022 through Friday, July 1, 2022 on the campus of St. Anselm College.  Boys State is a six-day training course in the study and practical application of self-government.  It is meant to supplement Civics or American Government as it is taught in high schools across the state and is planned so students can put the theories of American government as taught in the classroom into practice.  To find out more information, including how to apply, please speak to your school counselor or visit www.NHBoysState.org.  Applications are due by May 31, 2022.
