COVID-19 Protocols Update
On January 10, 2022, the Dover School Board adopted the revised Protocols Applied to Pandemic Education (PAPE) based on the latest guidance from the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (NH DHHS). The major revisions can be found below. The full document is attached for your reference.
A symptomatic person not fully vaccinated can be removed from isolation and COVID-19 precautions if at least 5 days have passed since symptoms first began and the person has also been off fever-reducing medications for 24 hours while symptoms have been improving.
Asymptomatic positively tested persons can be removed from isolation and precautions after 5 days have passed from the date of the person’s first positive COVID-19 test, assuming the person does not subsequently develop symptoms.
The following people do NOT need to quarantine after an unprotected exposure to a person with COVID-19:
A) A person who is 14 days beyond the final dose of their COVID-19 vaccine and considered fully vaccinated (i.e., 14 days after full vaccination).
B) A person who is within 90 days of a prior COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2 infection diagnosed by PCR or antigen testing.
People returning after international travel or travel on a cruise ship do not need to quarantine if they are 14 days or more beyond completion of COVID-19 vaccination or are within 90 days of a prior COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2 infection that was diagnosed by PCR antigen testing. However, people returning after international travel or travel on a cruise ship that do not fit the criteria of the previous sentence, have the option of ending their travel based on the most recent CDC guidelines.
Household contacts that are not of “full vaccination status” will quarantine for 5 days from last day of exposure. This could be up to 10 days under certain scenarios. Each person will need to be determine where they are in the vaccination status, this includes booster eligibility for some situations.
One still needs to monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19 and practice the layers of public health protection due to the potential of being a carrier/spreader of COVID-19.
