PSAT and Preparation Opportunity

Here are some resources and information to help you students prepare for this year’s PSAT.

Free PSAT Prep Live sessions will be run for those that are planning to take the PSAT this October.

This completely free online experience will bring students live, interactive lessons with a team of expert PSAT teachers. In each two-hour session they’ll cover key topics on the exam, go over practice problems, and gain confidence for test day. We’ve designed the first session to focus on major strategies to tackle each of the sections on the PSAT, and the second session to emphasize practice.

Held in Kaplan’s online classroom, students will be taught by one teacher, while multiple teaching assistants support students and answer questions in the chat. With interactive polls, lots of practice questions, and an experienced teaching team, we’ve found that students can be fully engaged in the lessons. They can join from any device with an internet connection, and we’ll share recordings of the lessons afterward for any students who were not able to join the live classes.

To get access to the sessions, students can register at this link. All student email addresses will be used only to communicate information about this event and sharing the links to join.

Join Kaplan's Free PSAT Prep Li Sessions

Morning Drop Off/Afternoon Pick Up

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we people get used to the traffic patterns at Dover High School.

Morning Drop Off- We use all the drive throughs except the bus loop for parents to pull into to drop students off. Students can also be dropped off in the pull out cut off area on Alumni Drive next to the front parking lot.  Please pull up as far as you can in the lane.  Please do not drop students off on Alumni Drive, it is not safe and slows the flow of traffic.

Afternoon Dismissal- Parents can use the pull in area on Alumni Drive or the drive through lanes in the parking lot.  We direct traffic at the exit of the parking lot on Alumni Drive, at the corner of Alumni Drive and Bellamy Road, and at the crosswalk between Dunaway and Bellamy Fields.  When the buses leave, we hold the traffic to allow them all out at once. Please do not pick students up on Alumni Drive, it is not safe and slows the flow of traffic.

COVID-19 Protocols in Place for the Start of School

The Dover School Board updated the District’s 2021-2022 Re-Entry Plan at a meeting held on Monday, August 25, 2021.  The information below reflects the current COVID-19 protocols that will be in place when students return to school next week.  The start of school schedule can be found below.

1. The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services metric currently places community transmission of COVID-19 at substantial.  Because of that, masks (not bandanas or gaiters) will be required of all staff, students, and visitors when they are in the building.  Masks are not required outside.

2. You will find attached a health screener for families to use with their students each day.  If your student(s) do not pass the screener, it is requested that the student(s) stay at home.

3. In accordance with federal guidelines, masks are required on buses used for transporting students to school and for co- or extracurricular activities.

4. All attempts will be made to provide three feet of social distancing in classrooms and six feet in areas where students are eating.

Free breakfast and lunch will again be provided to all students this year.  Families that qualify for free or reduced lunch should still complete a Freed and Reduced Application which can be found at this link.

Medical Documentation

Please provide the Health Office with any new medical documentation or with pre-existing conditions of which the school is not aware.

Lockers

We have found that many students do not want or use a locker.  Starting with the Class of 2025 (this year’s freshmen), we will ask freshmen to request a locker if that is their desire.  Freshmen received information in the mailing that went out last week about this process.  Please complete the form that was in the mailing and return to Ms. Graves in the Counseling Office.  They will assign the locker.  Sophomores, juniors, and seniors will use their same lockers.  Their locker information can be found in Infinite Campus.
