COVID-19 Protocols in Place for the Start of School

The Dover School Board updated the District’s 2021-2022 Re-Entry Plan at a meeting held on Monday, August 25, 2021.  The information below reflects the current COVID-19 protocols that will be in place when students return to school next week.  The start of school schedule can be found below.

1. The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services metric currently places community transmission of COVID-19 at substantial.  Because of that, masks (not bandanas or gaiters) will be required of all staff, students, and visitors when they are in the building.  Masks are not required outside.

2. You will find attached a health screener for families to use with their students each day.  If your student(s) do not pass the screener, it is requested that the student(s) stay at home.

3. In accordance with federal guidelines, masks are required on buses used for transporting students to school and for co- or extracurricular activities.

4. All attempts will be made to provide three feet of social distancing in classrooms and six feet in areas where students are eating.

You will find attached the most recent version of Protocols Applied to Pandemic Education (PAPE) that was adopted by the Dover School Board on Monday, August 23, 2021.

Meals

Free breakfast and lunch will again be provided to all students this year.  Families that qualify for free or reduced lunch should still complete a Freed and Reduced Application which can be found at this link.  Free and Reduced Lunches - Food Services - Dover School District

Questions concerning the Free and Reduced Form should be directed to Lucinda Shattuck at 516-6708.

Athletics

You will find attached the protocols for athletics for the fall season.  Please note the information on spectators for indoor events.

Start of School Schedule

The 21-22 Academic Year calendar is attached.  The information below provides specific details for the first two weeks.

Tuesday, August 31st- Freshmen and Sophomore Orientation- All freshmen and sophomores will have orientation on Tuesday, August 31st from 7:40 am to 12:00 pm.  Bus students will be picked up at their normal morning bus time and dropped off after orientation.  Freshmen will pick up schedules in the Town Square and report to the gymnasium.  Sophomores will report to their Advisory.  Returning sophomores will be in the same advisory as last year.  Advisory information can be found in Infinite Campus and will be posted on the outside doors and throughout the building. Students will run through both their Green Day and their White Day schedules, getting the opportunity to meet all their teachers.

Wednesday, September 1st- All students report to school for a full school day.  School begins at 7:40 am and ends at 2:30 pm.  Students will report directly to Block 1 and follow their Green Day schedule.

Thursday, September 2nd- All students report to school for a full school day.  School begins at 7:40 am and ends at 2:30 pm.  Students will report directly to Block 1 and follow their White Day schedule.

Friday, September 3rd- No school for the Labor Day Recess.

Monday, September 6th - No school for the Labor Day Recess.

Tuesday, September 7th - No school due to Teacher Workshop Day.

Wednesday, September 8th - All students report to school for a full school day.  Students follow their Green Day Schedule.

Thursday, September 9th - All students report to school for a full school day.  Students follow their White Day Schedule.

Friday, September 10th - All students report to school for a full school day.  Students follow their Green Day Schedule.

Monday, September 13th - All students report to school for a full school day.  Students follow their White Day Schedule.

The Green and White schedule continues without interruption.  If we have a day(s) off that simply means that the day you return you pick up where you left off.  For example, Thursday, September 2nd is a White Day.  The next scheduled school day is Wednesday, September 8th.  That makes Wednesday, September 8th a Green Day.

    Lockers

We have found that many students do not want or use a locker.  Starting with the Class of 2025 (this year’s freshmen), we will ask freshmen to request a locker if that is their desire.  Freshmen received information in the mailing that went out last week about this process.  Please complete the form that was in the mailing and return to Ms. Graves in the Counseling Office.  They will assign the locker.  Sophomores, juniors, and seniors will use their same lockers.  Their locker information can be found in Infinite Campus.

 Senior Portraits for the Yearbook

Please see the information below from the school photographer, Mark Lawrence.

 June 2021

 Dear Dover High Families:

We at Mark Lawrence are pleased to have been selected as the official photographers for the Dover High Class of 2022 yearbook.  We will be working throughout the school year capturing the memories that your student will cherish for years to come.

Probably the most anticipated yearbook section is the senior section which features an individual portrait of each member of the Class of 2022.  We will be doing these portraits at our Londonderry studio during the summer months of June, July, and August.

The basic sitting fee at Mark Lawrence, which includes a retouched photograph for the yearbook, is $30.  We also offer other sessions for additional cost - which include more time in the studio, extra poses, outfit changes, different backgrounds as well as outdoor poses.  The outdoor poses are very popular with the seniors.  All sessions confirmed by June 30th and in which the senior is photographed prior to August 15th will receive a discount on the session fee.

Please follow the link below to see samples of our work, get ideas for clothing, and different ways to make your portraits more personal and unique to you.
