Dover High School and Regional Career Technical Center Information Update Wednesday, August 11, 2021

Mailing and Student Schedules

Student schedules and other related back-to-school information was mailed on Friday, August 6, 2021.  Juniors and seniors are asked to pay particular attention to the parking information.  Sophomores were allowed to park on campus last year because of our hybrid schedule and the number of students who remained virtual.  They will not be allowed to park on campus for this year.  We will be returning to our past parking practices which are based on School Board Policy JLIE.  If you do not receive a schedule by Wednesday, August 11, 2021, please contact the school at 516-6922.

Senior Parking Information

Seniors can begin signing up for parking passes next week.  Please review the information below that was sent out to seniors in the mail.

Students must have cleared up all obligations before their application will be processed.

To provide students with more opportunities to take care of this process multiple days and times will be made available for the purchase of parking permits by seniors.  Seniors may sign up for a parking permit during the following times in the Main Office of Dover High School.

Tuesday, August 17th through Thursday, August 19th from 9 AM to 11AM and 1PM to 3 PM

Wednesday, August 25th through Friday, August 27th from 9 AM to 11AM and 1PM to 3 PM

As in years past additional time will be afforded to seniors to purchase parking passes at the beginning of the school year.

To expedite the process, students should come prepared with the following:

  1. Copy of a valid driver’s license
  2. Copy of vehicle registration
  3. $177.00 in the form of a check, money order or cash. Please make checks payable to Dover High School
  4. Completed two-sided Parking Regulations and Application form with student and parent signatures.

Junior Parking

The information below pertaining to parking was shared with juniors in the mailing sent out last week.

Juniors may park in the Bellamy Lot at Bellamy Field or in the Junior Lot behind the South End Fire Station without a permit on September 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, and 10th.   During this time, the application process for parking permits will be taking place.

Students must have cleared up all obligations before their application will be processed.

Juniors may drop off completed parking applications and payment beginning Wednesday, September 1st in the Main Office.  The window for applications will close on Friday, September 10thth at 3:00 PM.  It is important to understand that the order in which applications are submitted throughout the week does NOT matter. In the event of a need for a lottery the winners will be posted outside the Main Office on Monday, September 13th.  Student winners may pick up their permits before or after school or during their lunch in the Main Office, not during class time, to prevent missing instruction time

To expedite the parking application process, students should come prepared with the following:

  1. Copy of a valid Driver’s License
  2. Copy of the registration for the vehicle to be parked on campus
  3. Payment of $177 in the form of check, money order or cash. Please make checks payable to Dover High School.
  4. Completed Parking Regulations and Application and Permit Application with student and parent signatures. Please be sure both sides of this document are completed.

Medical Documentation

Please provide the Health Office with any new medical documentation or with pre-existing conditions of which the school is not aware.

Counseling Department Information

The Counseling Office has a limited number of appointments between August 16th and August 27th.  Requests are handled in as timely a fashion as possible due to summer staffing models.  Students also have the six day Add/Drop period at the beginning of the academic year to make adjustments to their schedules.  This year the add/drop period will run from Wednesday, September 1st through Monday, September 13th.

Lockers

We have found that many students do not want or use a locker.  Starting with the Class of 2025 (this year’s freshmen), we will ask freshmen to request a locker if that is their desire.  Freshmen received information in the mailing that went out last week about this process.  Please complete the form that was in the mailing and return to Ms. Graves in the Counseling Office.  They will assign the locker.  Sophomores, juniors, and seniors will use their same lockers.  Their locker information can be found in Infinite Campus.

Senior Portraits for the Yearbook

Please see the information below from the school photographer, Mark Lawrence.

 June 2021

 Dear Dover High Families:

We at Mark Lawrence are pleased to have been selected as the official photographers for the Dover High Class of 2022 yearbook.  We will be working throughout the school year capturing the memories that your student will cherish for years to come.

Probably the most anticipated yearbook section is the senior section which features an individual portrait of each member of the Class of 2022.  We will be doing these portraits at our Londonderry studio during the summer months of June, July, and August.

The basic sitting fee at Mark Lawrence, which includes a retouched photograph for the yearbook, is $30.  We also offer other sessions for additional cost - which include more time in the studio, extra poses, outfit changes, different backgrounds as well as outdoor poses.  The outdoor poses are very popular with the seniors.  All sessions confirmed by June 30th and in which the senior is photographed prior to August 15th will receive a discount on the session fee.

Please follow the link below to see samples of our work, get ideas for clothing, and different ways to make your portraits more personal and unique to you.
