Student Schedule Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: What does “no scheduled course” mean on the schedule? Is something wrong?

A: This is the place for a study hall if we were in the building. Students in grades 9-11 should have no more than two blocks open for the year. These blocks may be filled with courses on a space available basis. Students in grade 12 should have no more than 4 open blocks.

Q: What if I have most of my core classes one semester and most of my electives the other semester?

A: This is the way a 4x4 can work out depending on course requests. While this may not seem ideal, it does mimic a college schedule.

Career Technical Center classes are a priority group in terms of phasing in students.  We are looking to make a decision on September 24th in the hopes of having those students in the building on October 5th.

Please disregard the account expiration email regarding your student's school library account sent out by the Dover Public Library.   All student school library accounts are in the process of being renewed and no action on your part is needed.  If you have an incoming freshman, a DHS library account will be created for them.

FOOD SERVICE- The District has heard from the USDA that it is allowing Area Eligibility in summer programs in all areas through December 31 (essentially the same program that was in place this spring). The Dover School District will now be able to make meals available to all children 18 years old and under at no charge. This includes students attending classes on campus as well as those involved in remote learning.

This is a great opportunity to combat the food insecurity and economic impact that the COVID crisis has created in the Dover community. To provide as many meals as possible in a timely and safe manner, we will be delivering three breakfast/lunch meal combinations every Tuesday, and two breakfast/lunch meal combinations every Friday starting September 15th to the following locations between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM:

(The District will still be providing meals for all the students who used our online ordering forms as published for the staggered site deliveries scheduled for September 11).

Food Drop Off Locations

Woodman Park School – 11 Towle Avenue

                Rutland Manor -1 Abby Lane

                Adelle Drive – Redden Gardens

               Westgate Village – 1 Martha’s Way

White Cliffs of Dover – 510 Martha’s Way

Lilac Gardens – 1 Lilac Lane

Mineral Park – Mineral St., Upper Housing Authority

Seymour Osman Community Ctr. – Hampshire Circle, Lower Housing Authority

Parent’s/guardians will no longer need to place an order, all you need to do is show up at one of these locations between 1:00 and 2:00 PM on Tuesdays and Fridays to pick up the meal combinations mentioned above for each one of your children 18 years old and under.

We will be running one bus with a driver and one other “spare” driver provided by the bus company to assist with loading and unloading materials from the busses. The busses will arrive for pick up at the high school at 12:00 p.m. and make it to their destination by 1:00 p.m.

Technology- There is the potential that student laptops will not be in for distribution on September 10th.  Below is a link to a Google Form for people to fill out indicating whether they will need to borrow a Chrome Book.  Please complete the form as soon as possible. If you cannot access the form, please call 516-6922 to request a Chrome Book.

Athletic Transportation:  All student-athletes who register for a fall sport will be required to register on Family ID (https://www.familyid.com/dover-highmiddle-school).  A $75 registration fee will be charged at the time of registration.  Because we are playing interscholastically this season at the Varsity level only, the $75 fee will be reimbursed to each student/family at the close of the fall season for any student-athlete who does not play in or dress for a varsity contest.

Please understand that during the registration process we do not know who will be selected for, or play/dress, at the varsity level so we must collect the fee.  Additionally, during typical seasons, rosters are modified for a variety of reasons and the makeup of teams are subject to change.  As a result, the $75 fee will be held until the close of the season and reimbursed at that time for those who do not play/dress for a varsity contest.

For any unusual circumstances or requests or if you have questions, please contact the Athletic Department at 516-6950 or by email at p.wotton@dover.k12.nh.us
