Enjoy Spring Recess from April 24th to April 28th!
Families - Please Note:
Friday, May 26th has been changed from a teacher workshop day to a regular school day due to the number of snow days this winter.
The Dover Alternative Program is an approved
special education program within the Dover School District. The program was
established in 1991 to provide an alternative to the traditional academic
setting for learners with challenges. Our program services students from
neighboring school districts in addition to Dover.
The faculty at The Dover Alternative Program consists of four academic
teachers, a counselor, a paraeducator, a licensed drug and alcohol counselor,
an expressive therapist intern, an administrative assistant, and the
Dean/Director. Our staff assists students with their social/emotional,
behavioral, and academic needs throughout the school day. Our teachers engage
students through innovative instruction within academic classes. Our counseling
staff provides individual/group counseling and family support. In addition, we
work closely with community based agencies to enhance student success in all
areas of functioning.
If you would like more information about our program, feel free to contact
our Dean, Dr. Joan Breault, EdD, by phone at 603-516-6058 or email at email@example.com

Our students have been enjoying several different trips lately. They have gone bowling a few times, taken a couple of yoga classes, gone to the Rye Airfield indoor skate park twice, toured Great Bay Community College, Job Corps, and Hutchinson Manufacturing, and visited a goat farm.
Upcoming trips include bowling and a Fisher Cats game. Check out our Community-Based Field Trips page to see some pictures!
Attendance, behavior, and grades are all important considerations when inviting students on these trips. Tardies/truancies lead to failing grades and disciplinary issues. Please work with your children to make sure they are here every day.
