3:30-5:30 -  Tailgate Cookout sponsored by the Athletic Department. Please see the memo below for details.

On September 29th we will be holding our 13th tailgate cookout for any member of the Dover High School student-body, staff and alumni.  The cost of the event is FREE.  This price includes food and drink and some good ole’ school spirit. The Athletic Department and Athletic Leadership Council, along with a number of Athletic Booster Clubs are sponsoring this event.  This will be a wonderful time to come and socialize, eat, throw Frisbee’s, play hacky-sack, toss a football or baseball/softball, play Bocce or just hangout.  Many of the athletic booster organizations will set up grills which will be serving hot-dogs and hamburgers.  Parents and students will provide salads, baked goods and desserts.  Coolers will be set-up to serve cold drinks.  Please join us for “dinner” and remember Dover High School is a drug and alcohol free zone -- none in you or on you.

 Field Trips:

Our community-based trips are a big part of our program here. We take two trips per week, usually in the afternoon. Please visit our Community-Based Field Trips page for more information!

About us:

The Dover Alternative Program is an approved special education program within the Dover School District. The program was established in 1991 to provide an alternative to the traditional academic setting for learners with challenges. Our program services students from neighboring school districts in addition to Dover.

The faculty at The Dover Alternative Program consists of four academic teachers, a counselor, a paraeducator, a licensed drug and alcohol counselor, an expressive therapist intern, an administrative assistant, and the Dean/Director. Our staff assists students with their social/emotional, behavioral, and academic needs throughout the school day. Our teachers engage students through innovative instruction within academic classes. Our counseling staff provides individual/group counseling and family support. In addition, we work closely with community based agencies to enhance student success in all areas of functioning.
